1946
WOW only 83 pieces of IZ-350 was produced that year! I would be ready to pay 2000 EUR for genuine 1946 IZ-350 with papers. 1947 year-2357 pcs. was produced, but I never seen one from that year either :( (and I have seen many IZ-350). Sorry for remarks :) .

Nice that you can find original parts. I doubt that I can help you with G-37, because I think I never seen one on sale :( .But you never know .

Is it G-37 on your picture?I thought it´s a G-38!

PS.I think you most likely know it,but that switch on the bottom of front lamp is somebodys selfmade secret lock, not factory stuff.

What is that book ? Could you scan/photograph all pages and put them somewhere in the net or send to me? Or al least pages about M1A? Do you have electrical scheme for M1A with G-37?
The books name is "Справочная книга по мотоциклам,мотороллерам и мопедам" and it´s from year 1965.But it covers older soviet motorcycles too.Has 450 pages, but i can photograph(i dont have scanner) the part about 125 bikes. Edit: Well, seems that I was talking again lots of bulls...t to you again
! It shows again, that I dont know much about 125cc motorcycles. I searched for G-37 scheme and found one.And it became clear, that electric system with G-37 alternator had battery too!
It has no "black box" just selenium rectifier in lamps shell. So the battery holder is right one(no black box holder in it) to your M1A and and maybe the front light too(but I still have doubts about that indicator position). I could not find picture about G-37 alternator, just this drawing with flange-

I checked the date for igniton without battery for the M1A.It says that from October 1954 all Minsk made bikes were equiped with alternate current generators G-37 and new front lamp FG-17. Generator G-37 was mounted to engine of M1A thru special flange. So changing it back to G-35 was no problem, just take off the G-37 and flange.I´m sure that your bike had originaly G-37 alternator and no battery. One of the owners had just changed it to G-35 and added battery holder.

The generator on the picture of engine is newer, model G-401.

And that front lamp that you have is bit modified. There was no indicator light on FG-17 and ignition lock was different.

Ups! my mistake! :wstyd:
I did not watch the pictures so close and tought that this is your K-125M

Your motorcycles model is still M1A. I think you can call it "M1A Minsk". It´s a M1A version made in Minsk.

- Telescopic front work came somewhere around 1952/3. Last version of M1A did not have battery and electric box (model PP30?), they had alternating generator. I have to check it from books at home, when the system changed. I´m guessing somewhere year 1954.
-I only have also that 1950 M1A manual and there is no spare part catalogue in our library either. :(

- There´s no Russian made 2,5x19 tyres here in sale either. But most M1A/K-125 owners here use 2,5x19 Mitas H-02- http://www.mitas.cz/index...ranka=4&scid=51

- Original documents are hard to find here too. But here in Estonia you can make documents from zero if you restore your old bike correctly (it will be inspected by specialists)and get that nice small black oldtimer motorcycle numberplate like the IZ-350 in this picture- http://www.tsiklitall.org...p?album=4&pos=1

- Those handlebar rubbers are hard to find here too and nobody does not make replicas for russian bikes yet :( .

By the way, that separate engine on the picture is not for M1A. It´s for model M1M (from 1956) or even newer.

mcfrag, your motorcycle is not made in Minsk, but in Kovrov.

Little note about old russian 125 cc bikes. After the war somewhere around 1946/7 (I have to check it from books to be 100% sure) the production of 125cc motorcycles was started in TWO different factories in Russia. Moscow factory begun production of M1A"Moskva" and Kovrov factory started to make K-125.Both of those bikes looked similar, but both had quite a lot of differences(electrics, lights, toolboxes etc).

In the end of 40`s the production of motorcycles in Moscow factory was stopped and all the equipment was removed to Minsk factory in Belorus.

The M1A bikes made now in Minsk factory had those fuel tanks with "Minsk" writing stamped on their sides. M1A made in Moscow factory did not had any writing stamped on them, just waterslide stickers.

There has NEVER been a fuel tank with "Minsk" writing on Kovrov made 125 cc bikes (K-125, K-125M, K-55 and K-58)! They always had painted/waterslide stickers on them. Both M1A and K-125 had girder front forks. When K-125 was introduced with telescopic front fork, it was renamed K-125M.

Later (post 1952?) M1A´s made in Minsk had also telescopic front forks and on some later ones there was no battery in ignition system.

Sorry for rising old post,but... This rear wheel is from Izh motocrosser. From Izh-55K to Izh-64K(years 1956-1972).
Here is drawing of this wheel from book about Izh sportsbikes-

Those wheels were sold as spare parts for Izh-350/49,but they NEVER were fitted from factory to Izh streetbikes. But quite a lot of sidecar Izh-49(K) owners used this wheel, because it´s much stronger(fatter 4mm straight spokes etc)than original factory wheel.

I have it on my Izh-64M also-
